Darren’s framed embroideries celebrate the visual, textural and expressive qualities of fabric and thread using a found palette of vintage and recycled materials. The narratives explored are taken from personal experiences, film, textile history and specifically his collection of 1940’s ‘Stitchcraft’ magazines. These reflect his interest in domestic making, social history and a love of fashion.
